Dr. Wenderoth is a Board Certified Orthodontist with more than 30 years of experience of creating beautiful faces. After completing Dental School at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1990 and a general residency at the VA Hospital in Cleveland, OH in 1991, Dr. W practiced as a family and cosmetic dentist until he felt the call to specialize in Orthodontics in 1995. After completing his specialty residency in Orthodontics at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, he moved to Simpsonville, SC where he still lives with his wife Tiffanie and their daughter Ava.
Dr. Wenderoth started and built a practice of his own that became a staple in the community. He saw more than 10,000 patients spanning two generations in the more than 25 years he practiced there and took pride in seeing the children of former patients who knew the quality of care their own children would receive.
In 2021 he decided to transition out of an ownership role in his own practice to spend more time with his wife and daughter. During his time owning a private practice, Dr. Wenderoth focused heavily on excellence in customer experience enhancement and being on the leading edge of technological advancements in our profession. He has been a lifelong student and continues to be.
Still passionate about changing lives and futures through orthodontics, he is now in an ongoing role of helping not only patients in other practices with their care, but also allowing his colleagues in orthodontics time to improve the quality of their own lives and practices. Since September of 2023, he has been working with the team at Clover Orthodontics to continue the level of quality and service this practice has shown from the beginning.
Dr. W loves the outdoors and is an avid runner. When he isn’t working, you’ll find him running miles or walking on the beach with his family. He is learning new things all the time, and recently started learning to play the guitar. He looks forward to meeting new people, especially when he is afforded the privilege of improving their smile and quality of life.
Dr. Spencer Coombs is a native of Rock Hill, SC and is very excited to be back in the area and joining the Jackson Orthodontics team! Dr. Coombs believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to smile confidently and to have a properly functioning and healthy bite. This is why he has dedicated his career to orthodontics and has completed the many years of education and additional training necessary to become a Board Certified Orthodontist. Dr. Coombs understands the commitment that patients make when choosing an orthodontist for their braces or clear aligner treatment. His goal is to provide all of his patients with the most enjoyable and comfortable experience possible. To help achieve this, he dedicates significant time with each patient he sees to make sure they understand and are comfortable with their treatment plan.
Dr. Coombs graduated from Clemson University and then completed dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Following dental school, he pursued additional training and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. Dr. Coombs served as a general dentist in the United States Navy for 4 years at MCRD Parris Island located in Beaufort, SC. During his time in the Navy, Dr. Coombs served as the Department Head of CAD/CAM and Digital Dentistry as well as the Program Director for Children's Dental Health Month. Throughout his military service, he was able to gain valuable experience in all dental specialties that has translated into providing the highest level of comprehensive care for his patients. He then completed an orthodontics residency program at the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta, GA and received his board certification by the American Board of Orthodontics shortly thereafter.
In his spare time, Dr. Coombs tries to get outside as much as possible. He currently lives in Fort Mill with his wife and their two young children and enjoys running, playing golf, mountain biking and fishing.
